Why did Instagram not send a Collaboration Request to Other Users?

Why did my Post Collaborators not Receive an Instagram Collab Request?

There are a few reasons why a user(s) did not receive a request to collaborate on your post on Instagram:

  1. Their username was misspelled in your Create Draft.
  2. Their account is not “Public” on Instagram.

What happens if it’s not done correctly?

If a collaboration notification isn’t received by the tagged account, they won’t be able to accept the collaboration request. Unfortunately, there’s no way to add collaborators after a post has gone live on Instagram.

Your options are:

  • Tag the user in the media/copy of the post via Instagram’s native app. This won’t list them as an official collaborator, but it will allow the post to appear in their ’tagged photos’ and notify them that they are being featured in a post.
  • Delete the post from Instagram and re-upload with the correct Collaborators. You can do this quickly by using Create’s Instant Post feature.

How to ensure correctness before Scheduling/Publishing:

  • Spell Check: Double-check the spelling of all Instagram handles before publishing.
  • Public Mode: Ensure that all tagged accounts are set to “public” mode on Instagram.
